The DS2001 is planar type displacement sensor. This small, thin sensor consists of a plane coil and dedicated IC (semiconductors) on the printed circuit board.
The DS2001 oscillates at several hundreds of MHz. The oscillation frequency varies corresponding to the change in distance from the metal opposed to the coil surface.
